The Geechee Sailing Club is the proud host of the Annual St. Patrick’s Regatta.  Number 47 was held the weekend of March 21-22, 2026 on the Wilmington River of Savannah.  It was absolutely perfect weather all weekend: clear blue skies, temperatures in the 70s, and consistent winds out of the west/northwest.  On Saturday, we had three classes: Spinnaker, Non-Spinnaker, and Rhodes 19, the latter two sailing the same course and being able to complete two races.  The Spinnaker fleet had one long race.

That evening, the skippers, crews, spouses, and sponsors, plus Geechee Sailing Club members, enjoyed a wonderful evening at Molly McGuire’s on Wilmington Island.  Beer and wine flowed as everyone had a delicious buffet (including cake) while watching a slide show of photos taken during the day.  We participated in a tricky tray raffle plus a silent auction for three beautifully framed nautical prints.  Fleet race awards were given to the top three finishers in each class.

On Sunday, a very exciting Pursuit Race was held where the boats with the highest PHRF ratings started first, and the boat with the lowest started last - but still finished first!
