2010 St. Patrick's Notice of Race
Racing:
The Geechee Sailing Club will host its annual St. Patrick’s Regatta on March 20th and 21st 2010. The regatta is open to all self-righting yachts 21' or greater in overall length. Boats will be assigned a PHRF handicap rating upon registration and will compete in one of three classes: Class "A" Spinnaker, Class"B" Non-spinnaker, and Class "C" Cruising and One Design. Races will be held both days in the Wilmington River or in Wassaw Sound. Starting sequences for the first race will begin at 1:00 both days although start times and race courses will be dependent upon wind and weather conditions.
Registration for the regatta will take place on Friday, March 19 from 6:00pm - 7:30pm at Tubby's Tankhouse (2909 River Drive, Thunderbolt), followed by a captain's meeting. The entry fee is $55 ($50 for U.S. Sailing members) and includes both days of racing, a T-shirt and one dinner.
After the Saturday races, all captains and their crews are invited to join their fellow racers and other Geechee Sailing Club members at Tubby’s Tankhouse in Thunderbolt starting at 6:00. Dinner tickets will be available at registration. Following the conclusion of the final race on Sunday, an after-Regatta get-together for all participants will be held at Tubby’s during which prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each class.
